D-Ring or String Loop?
I presently shoot with a string loop, but am interested in the D-Ring style. Any benefits/drawbacks to this type of release aid? I am looking for something that won' t stretch, and is durable, but I have heard that the D-loop could cut a cable, and will screw up your release.

RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
Stick with the string loop. Those metal loops are heavy, noisy, and there are two more screws to come loose when you don' t want them to. The string is a lot easier to tune also.

Stick with the string. If you want a string loop that won' t stretch then you need to try the loop material from Brownell. It doesn' t burn as good of a knot as some of the others but doesn' t stretch. I believe Lancaster archery still carries it.

RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
I tend to agree with the others and am not very fond of the metal d-loops. They are noisy, heavy and can definitely cut cables/servings, etc...

RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
I' ve used both, and the string loop is the way to go for all the reasons stated above.

RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
I have shot with both(I need the extra extention) and I like the d-ring. 2 reasons - no need for tubing on the peep sight and many more shots without replacing.
I think that the noise from the d-ring is minimal and lessened without the tubing from the peep sight. Hunt on, hunt hard eat well |
RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
I just got a new bow and im going with the string loop. I havent heard to much negative towards it.

RE: D-Ring or String Loop?
The D ring will make your shots inconsistent!
You' ll be left, then right, then left, and so on. The weight at the very last movement of the string on the shot wants to swivel the D-ring around to the front. While the nock is still attached to the string. Left, right, left, right. Seriously. Took me a couple of weeks to figure it out. Took it off and an immediate bull/robinhood.:D |

I agree with Bigbulls
I have a 3 spoked peep tied into my string with a String Loop The line of sight has always been there! AL |
