Rage 40 KE
The new rage broadhead from rage is a two blade broadhead that is designed to use with a 40 Lb bow . So if you have kids that bow hunt with a 40 lb bow you need to try these . You can only use these with 40 lb bow or they will break . They also get 1.5 inch cutting diameter .
|
If they break with more then a 40 lb bow they can't be made very good. I thought they were made for any bow with just a smaller cut then the 2'' version so you get better penetration out of lower setups.
|
They aren't made to be shot out of only 40 pound or less bows. They aren't going to break if they are shot out of a 60 pound bow.
They are designed with a smaller cutting diameter and a steeper cutting angle than the standard Rage broadhead for better penetration with lower KE levels. |
the 40KE is designed to shoot out of a bow with lower kinetic energy not a 40lb draw weight.
I've seen enough tests and heard enough unhappy users of Rage heads to keep me away from them. There marketing strategy even turns me off........... but some people will beat you to a pulp for saying bad things about Rage broadheads. |
I was one of the biggest proponents for this head....taking 12 whitetails with them over 2 seasons. This marketing ploy turns me off, too. It's sickening. There is NO WAY I would shoot their 2" head (now) with less than SEVENTY FP's/KE. I wouldn't attempt the new 1.5" version with less than 60FP's.
I'm almost getting 40FP/KE out of my recurve. That number was pulled off the wall by the Rage Co., and it's one of the most irresponsible moves I've ever seen in hunting. My .02 |
Rage certainly knows how to market something to the less-than-informed hunter. Their original campaign made me puke with the "Best bad shot broadhead" and now this, 40KE garbage. Not for me, no thank you.

If I were him I would use G5.

That's why there is more than one manufacturer and type of broadheads. |

My .02 I do agree about higher KE with the 2 bladers... Ive seen/heard of too many non pass thrus. I am going with them this year b/c i will have plenty of KE. I shot the 3's last year and they were great! Are you planning on changing heads GMMAT? Derek |
