it works as an attractant, whether it helps with antler developement or not is still up for debate.

Same here!, i buy the granulated trace minerals at the local feed store for about$10 a bagand put it out every six months and have had good luck with it. The deer use it year round but tend to visit it more so in the spring and summer months.

Go buy a salt lick they work just as well! As for helping with development.........I dont see it because the salt content in the rock is like over 90 percent. Yes, I have used them and they are over priced and a two dollar chunk of salt works as well if not better.

Thank you mahoningbuck. If you want antler growth, you need protein and other minerals, not salt or molasses.

I am still wondering what the protein content of the "magic mix" that everyone seems to use. I am not disputing that it is an aid to the herd's health in various ways, but just wondered how much protein was in it?
