RE: INNERLOCK BH's
Jeff,
Im just geting ready for the season. I personally havent heard much about it until I had some arrows made last year before the inserts were glued in, he asked if I aligned the fletchings...I was lost...so I said sure. This is the real tune up I ve had on my bow, other than a paper tune at Gander Mntn. This guy says I will have a new bow when he is done tuning it...it will shoot different, better accuracy with realigning the "d'loop, and some other things he pointed out. The last thing he said when he was going to tune the innerlocs was to align the fletching with BH. Its all new to me on that one, so I may not be be telling the same story of it doesnt make a difference, but I havent shot it yet....so Im speaking from a proshop owner who states I will see a difference...as much as FP accuracy with allignment. Who knows! Right? I could be speaking out of my arse until I get a chance to shoot them and see for myself....it is true that I havent shot anything more accurate than the Rage 3 blade...but it wont shoot through mesh...and I have a set up to slay some that I have been watching on my clover plot....even named a few. I will let you know how it turns out....the guy was highly recommended, and i dont want to distrust him until I let a few fly. And then I will ask him how he cliamed it would make a difference. Time will tell |
RE: INNERLOCK BH's
I think it would be funny (but cruel...lol) to go back in to pick up your bow.....and tell him you've changed your mind. Now, you wanna shoot Magnus Stingers (with or without bleeders.....won't matter:D).
Take a photo of his facial expression.;) |
RE: INNERLOCK BH's
Last year, I had Grim Reapers and Muzzy Phantoms in my quiver. Both of them shot dead nuts at targets without ANY adjustments specific to the head. A properly tuned set-up will put you miles ahead of the blades lining up the fletch. Phantoms are 4-blade, and VERY large heads, so planing can be an issue with them, yet they shot very well for me, all the way out to 40 yards. I've shot Slick Tricks alot too, and they also fly very well out of my bow, again, 4 blades, so no fletch line-up is possible. There are not very many big accuracy secrets in the archery world, and if lining up the blades was the bees knees, there would be no 4-blade heads, or everyone who wanted 4 blades would shoot 4-fletched arrows.

RE: INNERLOCK BH's
You guys do know that common sense and simple logic have no place in a thread about lining up BH's with fletchings, right?

RE: INNERLOCK BH's
Most pros would agree that there is no benefit in aligning BHs with fletchings. I'd love to see some rationale or proof from those that do. Also, there is no way someone is going to do an exact tune for you. They can get you close, but ultimately YOU will have to fine tune your bow so that BH's hit with field points. Having arrows that spin true with no wobble is key, not fletching/BH alignment. If it gives you confidence, then have at it.

RE: INNERLOCK BH's
Ive shot both ways in the past and I noticed very little change either way. Now im deciding to use my carbons with my new bow if I should try some mechanicals or stick with fixed blades??

RE: INNERLOCK BH's
Guys,
Thanks for the input. I've never claimed to be a veteran of the sport, in fact still learning the ropes. I guess the unanimous decisions here have bypassed the proshop tech that was given me advice , but when it all comes down to it, its what feels good, as well as practice, practice, practice. I have literally never had any of these problems come up while hunting....with I guess an untuned bow. It has managed to drop a few, regardless of the pinpoint accuracy of the tuning. This is the first full on tune-up of the bow, and simply was pasing on the info from the "so called"pro. Thanks again for convincing me that its not always what you hear, its what you feel and see in your shooting. Although it helps with a well tuned bow. Thanks again! |
