Mineral site

Hey guys I was planning on making a mineral site or two around my property and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for mixtures to use that worked good from past experience. Thanks

I like Rack Attack, at least as an intial attractor but here is a recipe for a mineral lick that works.

I put out a Trophy Rock yesterday. I'll keep updated as to how well it works these next few months.

Use 2 parts trace mineral, 1 part di calcium phosphate, 1 part stock salt. You can buy most of this at any feed store. Works better than anything Ive tried over the yards and you can get it under $30 and it makes about 200 lbs so you can make several stations with it. Turno the soil over about 4 feet around, dump about 50 lbs, mix in with soil and thats it. My mineral stations get hit harder than my corn feers. Good luck

I use a home brew mix, some deer cain, and buck jam on a nearby stump.. Here's a pic before the time release deer cain block dissolved..
Clear out an area about 4x4 feet, at least ten feet off a well used trail. I have had better luck in the real thick spots, as far as bucks goes.

I"ve used the same recipe Diesel listed above for years now and have always had good results. I ran across a brick sized mineral block this year at my local farm supply store I'm going to try this year too.

Anything with a high calcium/phoshorous level will work fine. If you have a Southern States or feed store they will have something they probably dont know whats in the stuff they have. This enhances bone and antler growth and as well as help lactating mamas. Anything like Dairy Mineral CS or something similar will work.

How many stations would be common over X amount of acres? I assume 1 or 2 stations over 5 acres or is that too many/

I think I've seen that 1 will be good for every 50 or so acres.

I didn't read all of the replies, but I'd put it semi-near a water source. I haveseveral hundred photos from mine, using "the recipe".

Good luck.
