Homemade shed knife

I was looking around the house for something to do and found a old knight that sitll had a decent blade on it and it gave me an idea. I grabbed the knife and a broken shed and decided the cut the base off the shed and used it for the knife's handle part. It really wasn't all that hard to do. Where the blade goes into the shed looks kinda crappy but the blade is actually really gripped into the shed tightly.

Thanks.

I made another one. But instead of using a blade off a old knife I decided to make my own blade. I just used plain steel to test it out. It will probably start rusting sooner or later and become dull. Ill have to buy some special gosh darnit steel that is used for knives if I want to make some to use.

I formed the blade with a grinder. :D and then to make it look neater and to sharpen the blade a little more my dad told me to use some tool, im not sure what its called, but it made everything smoother and it took out the grinding marks. It also made it sharper. Steel buffer maybe?

Which one are you going to use for hunting?

probably the shorter blade. the other one wont stay sharp enough that long.

If you have some old saw blades around, they work. Use a cut-off wheel or whatever and cut out the shape you want, and work it from there. Of course you can always by a steel blank, but that's "cheating!!!" :D
