Question about the Rip Cord rest.
 

I just bought a new Rip Cord for the 82nd and I was wondering what people use to put on the rest to quiet it down when you draw? Its just plastic, and the carbon seems to act like sand paper when you draw it back.
I rapped the mole skin from my whisker biscuit around it for now, but i dont believe it will last long.

I had the same issue with mine. I just took it to the pro shop and they put some black felt on it that just sticks to the rest. It is completely silent now, absolutely no sound at all

Just mole skin works. You don't have to coat the whole inside of the forks. Just two tiny pieces that support the arrow. Should last a whole season.

Fleece, Moleskin will do the job. I also put a thin adhesive backed foam rubber on the shelf.;)

what kind of bow are you shooting? A company called Cherry Hill makes micro fleece silencing pads specifically for certain bows see:

It looks like a good idea, but it will cost 9 dollars in shippingto order a 3 dollar item.
May try to cut some mole skin the same way, or look around at some pro shops.

I shoot the 82nd Airborne 09'.

Thanks for putting up this post mate, I have exactly the same problem with my ripcord rest and its great to hear you guys have some answers. Lost a deer earlier this year from just that scraping noise!
