Hunting Deer Suffolk County, NY

Does anyone know where there are good areas for bowhunting in western to middle suffolk county, NY? And if anyone knows anyone who owns private land who I could be able to talk to possibly to hunt on their land. Thanks. Also notify them that I will do yard work for them in exchange.

RE: Hunting Deer Suffolk County, NY

County and state lands out here are decent if you get there early enough to get a spot. I prefer the county lands, because in the statelands, I have had people walk through my spots, even during hunting season. It is tough out here because you are in such a small confined area with so many people.
My personal experience is that it is tough to find private lands which do not already have people hunting there already. I stopped at one farm and the owner told me that he has had the same person hunting there for over 20yrs.
Good luck finding somewhere to go.
