thanks a lot for the response guys.. i'm gonan go to Cabela's this weekend and spend some time talking with those tech guys there..... i'm excited.. Gonna do both bow and gun hunting this fall

Personally, for the same money as the Parker, I would get the Martin Saber. It is a more "modern" design and shoots much faster.

Going to a proshop and trying bows is always the right way to get started, though. They should make sure you get the right draw length, draw weight, correctly spined arrows, etc to make whatever bow you get shoot good for you.
