I don't usually put mine out until around August. I like to see fairly well developed antlers in velvet. I like keeping disruption of my hunting area down to a minimum. I also only check my cam every two weeks for this same reason.

I run my cameras in a lot of different places. I then narrow them down to the places I want to hunt. I then try to move my cameras out of those placesabout month before season I thenput them in places as I start thinking about the rut. I check my cameras aboutonce a month.
