Where can you bait turkeys, besides Kansas and Texas?

Are there any other states that allow for baiting of turkeys? Not that I'm headed there.....just curious.

I've heard some doozie stories!

I think you can here in Michigan... You just have to make it hard for the deer to get to the bait...

Artificial FOOD.
Wouldn't it be better to use real food if you are baiting something?

BC:

Yes. Gobblers come to bait/feed sites all the time. Many peope here HATE them, because they (turkeys) eat so much food people put out for deer.

I baited deer my first season hunting them, and I had turkeys on my site EVERY DAY. You could count on it morning and evening. I once had 13 longbeards in at one time. I couldn't tell you how many jakes, but 65 turkeys, total.

Illegal in IL!!I wouldn't use bait if it was legal unless you are talking Bears. That's a different story. Wondering the same thing BC.

Is hunting a corn field Bait?;)

Illegal here in MO, if you've had food out it has to be removed 30 days prior. (Same as deer)

Yes turkeys come to the bait. we have a feeder set up with a camera and they are there everyday sometimes all day long! but I would have to say hunting over a corn field, water hole or funnel is basically like throwing out 20 pounds of corn.

Hunt smarter not harder!
