Bowhunting Goals for 2009?
I started 09 off with a bang, going 2 for 2 on Turkeys in Kansas. I didn't draw an IL tag this year (crazy permit draw system) My goals for this fall are pretty simple actually.
I'd like to take a solid P&Y qualifier Whitetail buck. I have a Mule Deer hunt in NE planned again this year but no great expectations as it is not really a big trophy area.
I just hope to take a Nice Buck again as I have the last 3 seasons.
I will say my main goal once again is to keep the season Fun!!
I'd really be interested in hearing what everyone elses goals and plans are for this year in Bowhunting!
Good Luck to everyone!!
May your Plan come together!!
Dan

I want to take a P&Y speedgoat in Gillette in early September, but more importantly have a blast with some good hunting buddies.
I'd really like to take a solid whitetail EARLY this year and take some of the self-imposed pressure off myself; I about burned myself out last year with so many sits on stand...
I'd like to take a deer out of my blind with my oldest boy watching... be just as happy with a big ol' doe in that instance.
I need to put another five deer in the freezer, as usual for my yearly meat requirements.
I'd like to help my Dad take his first bow-killed deer this year with his new Liberty.
Another goal is to cut the season shorter when activity starts dying off and turn to trapping predators.

I will be hunting Eastern's with my bow for the first time starting on the 20th. I would like to take a nice bird..
I am really hoping to take a Big old Northern Missouri Buck. Some friends and I are hunting with River Ridge Outfitters in Northern MO.. I can't wait.
I really would like to take a bigger buck then I did last year here in Mi.. It will be difficult. But I am up to the challenge.
Unforunately I will not be heading home to Idaho this year to go hunting. 2010, now that is a differnet story

Hunting with traditional tackle 100%....I'd like to take a buck and a doe. I'd be ecstatic if one of them was taken from the ground
That's it.
No Bait.
No Food Plot.
No Fence.
*(I'm not against ANY of those things, for others)

See lots of deer (like last year),
Have opportunities at deer (like last year),
If preparation and luck prevails then to tag a buck with archery over 110" (say 3 1/2 or older).
Fill my Doe tag from my new blind.
Bring one of the newbie boys out and get him his first deer!!!
Maybe do a gun hunt with MagicMan??

My goals are simple take a Buck I'm proud of in Archery Season, in Ohio.
And this YEAR I'm going to shoot a couple of Doe,
If my plan comes together early enough, Ideally I'd like to spend more time up at Camp in PA and would love toharvest a nice PA Buck too.
