Bowtech General would you still buy one?

The bargain shopper I am I found New General for $449 would you buy it? Or are these a no no with the recall and the design?

I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I actually wouldn't have even been concernd about the limb update. It was a less than 1% problem.

For that price I'd buy it.

Think about this: With as many people on the internet ready to strike out at any problem (real or perceived, self-created or not) that BowTech may have, I assure you that you would have been duly warned by your fellow archers were there still any remaining issues to be concerned with about The General.

;)

I purchased my General before the recall. I'd easily put 500 plus shots on it by then. I had a Sept. 08' Colorado archery Elk hunt booked. My Bowtech dealer wasn't able to get the new limbs in before the hunt. So guess what I took it anyways. I trusted it that much. I had the limbs replaced when I got back from the hunt, and deer hunted rest of season with it.I really love this bow ALOT! My only disapppointment was when Bowtech stopped offering this model for 09'. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase onein the least, but I would make sure the problem on one your looking at has been fixed. You'll see what looks like rivots at the tips of the limbs. That was all Bowtech needed to do.

GMMAT,

As far as I know, almost every single one of us turn our bows over every year. We'd run out of storage space if we kept them each year.

LOL, no... we sell them, but almost always the buyer ends up with a very good deal. We're usually going through anywhere from five to seven bows a year, so the new owner is usually getting a bow withrelatively few shots on it at a substantial savings over new. It's one of those win-wins... someone gets a great deal, and we get to fund our habit a bit in terms of things like hunting licenses and the like.
