Calico Buck in WI *PIC*

Don't know how accurate this e-mail is, but this is what it read.

Here is a Buck that a hunter got in WI. He sent these pictures to a bunch of people to see what he could get and the owner of Cabela's paid him $13,000 for the head and hide. A calico buck like the one below is rarer than an albino.

The buck was killed in Texas, and not sold to Cabelas. Supposedly the owner is having it full body mounted. Beautiful animal though

I'm with you on the not selling idea. I would never in a million years sell a deer like that much less any deer i shot unless I really needed the money.

Thats an awesome looking buck! Doesn't hanging them by the head like that stretch the hide? I heard somewhere if you plan on mounting it you shouldn't hang them like that. Just being curious.

Hahaha Calico? who is this guy kidding? :D

It goes in this order:

Melanistic

Albino

Piebald

And piebalds arent as rare as people think they are either...

That being said, beautiful buck (same thing i said last time this buck was posted)

Correct and don't forget white deer. A deer can be completely white but not be a albino. (I suppose though, a complete white deer that is not a Albino could be considered a piebald.)

Love the buck, I hunted a 1.5 year old doe several years ago exclusively. I had her at 50 yards several times (5) and couldn't close the deal. Funny thing is, she appeared out of nowhere even with all that white on her.

Im speakingto whomever called this beautiful animal a "calico".

Im referencing the fact that I would call him a piebald.

Yea, I got his "calico"!:D:D That is an awesome piebald though. It's unusual to see one being a buck THAT big. Very rare trophy for sure.

I could be wrong, but isn't that an awefully big bodied/necked buck for Texas? Wisconson would sound more believable, no?
