Trophy Ridge Matrix
I' m curious if anyone has tried a set of these? I am considering trying either the Matrix or Micro Matrix for my Q2 and would be interested in any feedback.
Thanks in advance |
RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
I helped a friend set up a 3 pin model on His Mathews bow, and they work great.....We set the 3 pins up with 3 or 4 shots......I wonder if the t-screws will back off ..If they do, just replace them with a hex head bolt...

[:' (][:' (][:' (][:' (]TR sights and I don' t get along. Put a Micro Matrix on my new RazorTec and it lasted exactly 1 shooting sesion before I took that piece of garbage off. Good idea, bad quality. Not worth the $114 I paid for it IMO. If you want to spend big $$$ go with a Spot-Hogg sight, at least they are a quality sight. Alot of people have actually had problems with the sight sitting too low, and when they shoot broadheads they have actually cut the fiber-optics that hang out the bottom of the sight!! I switched to a $44 HOYT Micro-Lite 3 pin sight and it works 10X' s better than that POC TR sight. I was warned by alot of people about the down side of and poor quality of TR sights, man I wish I had listened to them. Be warned some people like these sights, but more people hate em!

I had my ups & downs with my TR Flatliner, but it' s still on my bow. I originally had the hex bracket and it wouldnt stop moving, the people at TR changed it to a dove tail joint bracket and it' s been fine ever since. Here' s a link to a report I did on it when I first got it.

RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
I checked out the TR Matrix but ended up with a Virtual Bow Gear Trapper sight. It only has three pins and they are vertically mounted also. However the fiber optic string is of a larger diameter and that makes the sight brighter and easier to see. It was about fifty bones less than the matrix but that alone wasn' t the buying factor. If Trophy Ridge had bigger fiber optic string, I probably would have boughten one. Hope this helps.[:o]

RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
The Matrix is an excellent choice. I have used and loved my TR sights since first getting a Flatliner. Last season I hunted with the Matrix and now this season I have upgraded to the Steel Tech pins. I have never had a problem with any TR products. In fact I have been so impressed with TR quality that I have also picked up their Drop Zone rest and the Xchanger stabilizer. They are all exciting technology that I look forward to using for many seasons to come. This new company is truly on the cutting edge of giving bowhunters equipment that will improve your shooting. I would suggest to anyone looking for awesome bowhunting accessories then check out the 2003 Trophy Ridge line-up.

RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
Trophy ridge has good ideas but their quality sucks!! They also think their sh!% don' t stink. Honestly, do you really want to pay over $100 for a plastic sight? There are better, more durable sights on the market. If you want an in line pin sight then look at the HHA triple threat or the VBG' s in line sight. Those are all metal except the HHA that has a clear acrylic guard. They cost about half the price also and come with a level. I bought the TR sight when it first came out and I will never buy another TR product. I looked at their drop away rest the other day and $109 for that, YEAH RIGHT!! They are just too proud of their stuff and want WAY too much money for the crappy quality that you get.
A guy in the store a few weeks ago was telling me that they will swap out the plastic pins for the metal ones for you if you send the sight to them. They only charge $30 to do this. $50 if you just buy the pins and do it your self. CRAP I say, they should be sending out flyers to the people with plastic pins to do this for free and pay for the shipping. |
RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
I' m with Bigbulls. My TR is working well now but if & when it ever breaks I' m not buying another one. I' ll buy two sights from a different company for the same coin.

RE: Trophy Ridge Matrix
Been shooting my TR on my Hoyt for two seasons and have had no problems. Alot of people shoot them down here and are happy with them. Last year a couple of post about the pins breaking. They contacted TR and they fixed the problem. l am absolutely brutal on all my hunting gear and if I don' t wreck it most hunters should have no problems with it.
