Turkey hunting ???

I am going to be turkey hunting this spring with Calhunter. He has permission to hunt on some property, but it must be with either a bow or a airgun. I am planning to take my bow and was wondering what kind head for the arrow. Would I use a broad head, or a field head of some sort? I'm planing on getting some new arrows for this, so once I have an idea of which head to use, I can get my arrows.

I'm going to give the bow a try for Turkey this Spring too and I'm going to use the mechanicals, bigger hole.

I just use the same arrows and broadheads I do for all my hunting
5575 gold tips with 100 grain 3 blade muzzy's
but I do back off the poundage from 60 to 50 for Turkeys

I have read on a couple of other threads that mechanicals work well for turkeys. I'm also going this spring. good luck!

I would use a mechanical head like the 3
blade spitfire and the most important
piece of equipment would be a double bull
blind.

this is one area where I would recomend a mechanical head over a fixed( although fixed heads will work very well). My turkey head of choice is going to be the Rocky Assissin, it opens fast, and with a 1 3/4" cutting diameter should do some damage to the birds. The most import aspect is to use a well tuned bow with shaving sharp heads and put you shot in the vitals.

Gonna be going out myself using my deer setup with some of those little shaft sliding Zwickey springs behind the head.

Man if only I could hit a turkey in the head on purpose! I could call myself &quot;one shot&quot; then.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
