It came at a cost,they also cut the season by a week and extended ML by a week. You can carry a bow in ML season now,illegal before. In reality bow hunters have lost 6 days and gained back 3. These are to begin in 2010.

Hawkeye,I guess you are right about the actual days gained. I was thinking about it from the perspective of peacefull quiet hunting when deer act normal. Around here the gun opener is the end of that type of hunting. With the woods being invaded with trucks and hounds,normal deer behavior is out the window till mid Jan. after the season ends. Many dogs turned out on Sat. are looked for on Sun. so you still have dogs and trucks in the area and deer on high alert,if not totaly nocturnal. Not bashing that type of hunting just wish it could stay seperated by a little time.

I live and hunt Dist. 7. If you add in the # of Sundays I picked up AND the extra 2 weeks they added to the end of the season, I picked up literally an entire MONTH of potetntial days afield to hunt with my bow (deer ALONE).

Maybe some day Pa will wake up and get with the program allowing Sunday hunting. You can gamble, drink, get an ****** girl (whore), and shop till you drop, but you can't hunt! So much for the "blue law" excuse.[:'(][>:]
