I remembered when you posted the story for us here with the photos of the tree that the buck had gashed last season, was pretty neat. Now to see it on the web you must be a happy camper and your father Ill bet is pretty proud once again of you. Congradulations on getting your article published and a successful hunt with your father.:D

good job on the buck and the best thing is that your spending time with your dad I' m sure he was just as pumped as you were. I know I try to spend as much time in the woods as I can with my dad and maybe my little guy will do the same with me

I cannot believe that Buckmasters actually allowed a Mathews pic on their website. They must really be getting desperate...especially with their decline in membership....:D

Seriously though...very well written story. It was easy to follow and easy to feel like I was right there with you.

Hey SWAT.... so what happened on that first shot.:D I take it you' re a finger shootin' Mmmmmmmmmm.... MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm>..... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...(you know) archer. What are you using for arrows that you have broadheads glued onto inserts and why:D:D? Are you shooting instinctive(no sights)?

Well written and you' ll soak that one up for a loooooong time! Nice buck too!

Back in 1985 I was on a caribou hunt with my Dad and one of the fellas that hooked up with us was a retired editor for several well know hunting/outdoor magazines. He did an absolute great article on our hunt and a condensed version of it appeared in North AMerican Hunter and a few others. My Dad passed away a few short years after the hunt and he took the biggest bull out of the group and was as proud as a peacock about the whole ordeal...as was I, especially for him!

Congrat' s again...

Swat791 04-26-2003 03:09 PM

RE: I got my story published.....sort of

davidmil....yeah I' m a finger shooter.
Of course the story was edited left out my equipment...Mathews MQ1 bow, Easton 2315 XX78 with (Bear Razor-lites[the broadheads I was going to use were Magnus]).
I haven' t hunted with instinctive in sometime.
When I bought my 1st NEW bow I decided to put all the bells and whistles on it.

The first arrow hit a small tree branch because I was shooting through 2 mesquite trees. I thought I had a big enough " window" to get it through.
