101st/82nd Airborne?
 

I am considering buying either a 101st or an 82nd Airborne. It's been a while since I have shot an 82nd so I really do not remember that much about it. I have never shot, nor seen, a 101st. For any of you that have shot both can I have some input please?

The 101st is a rare treasure. They only made it for one year and then it was out of the line. I don't think many gave it the attention that it deserved. I believe 82nd sales dwarfed 101st sales as a result of the slightly higher speed rating. The 101 smokes and has a higher brace hieght, a real shooter. If you can find one, buy it, you won't be disapointed. I am gonna have mine for a long time I believe.[8D] I have shot both, but I favor the 101, especially if you are a longer draw cause you are gonna get the speed anyhow.

Love my 101st. I'm not the monkey arm archer Ben is, but at 28.5", I'm still spitting good speeds. I like a little extra brace, ALTHOUGH the riser geometry is still the same between the two, so I'm not sure how much more forgiveness I'm getting due to the extra brace height, but I think either bow is an excellent choice.

This is some of the info I am looking for. I guess one of the real questions is the forgivness factor between the two. I only shot the 82nd a couple of shots and it was not set up for me, was a demo.Also if you all can, could you give me some chrono speeds on the 101st, and 82ndthat you are getting and with what grain arrow.

I shoot the 82nd. I have a short draw (27.5") and I don't notice any lack of forgiveness in relation to the 101st - which I shot last year before buying the 82nd.

ND,
For 3D I am shooting a 331 grain arrow at 330 fps with a 30 inch draw and only 63 lbs
My hunting arrow this past year was 447 grains and I had that flying at 295 at only 63 lbs

I vote 101.

Thanks for the input all. I have a 101st on the way at this time. Excited to get it. I'm sure the 82nd is a real shooter but I am going for the extra brace. Heck, who knows, I may wind up with a 82nd some day soon also.
