RE: what do you think?
My best experience, having a large 17-21 point) non-typical buck at 15-20 yards this year. And the worst would be me backing down from my standards adn attempting to harvest a 1.5 year 8 point (Never found him). Both of these hunts i have on video.

RE: what do you think?
My best day in the field,it was the opening day of shotgun season the year my dad died. The morning was cold and frosty and i didnt know what to expect i was just excited that myself and my brother in law at the time were goin to the woods! The spot i chose was a fresh cut cornfield with a 25 acre or so thicket directly across the field about 120 yards. My brother in law was gonna sit in a stand about 200 yards down from me and we were gonna see what happens.(when we got to the woods we were gettin our gear out and ready and i was set then he looked at me and started laughing i said whats so funny ,he said i grabbed my gun but i dont have my sluggs! lmfao now!!!!!!!!!!!!,he had to leave me and make the 20 mile drive to his house to get them)Back to the story, right as you could first start to see anything as the grey off the morning was the only light i had across the field from the thicket i saw a deer raise its head,i was using a smooth bore remington 870 opensights, the deer stated to meander and was walking dead away from me about 180 yards then suddenly it stops and comes towards me at a 90 degree angle works its way to about 50 yards and i couldnt contain myself BOOOOM,THE RECOIL in the grey mornig i lost sight then i noticed the white belly i was pumped!!!!!!!!!!!,at the time it was only the third deer ever for me.I was sitting there excited about what just happened then in the field an 8 pointer ran out and was looking right at me he was 80 yards i pulled up and shot him he ran out of the field, the brother in law returns i tell him that i killed two and he laughed!!!!! 30 minutes later when we were draggin my 8 out he wasnt laughin(sorry for the bad story telling to be continued)

RE: what do you think?
Best Experience- Killing my first bow deer, i remember i tried whispering to my knees to tell them to stop knockin, i was afraid the doe would hear em knockin into each other. I was so pumped!
Worst Experience- Having worked so hard for a big bow bucklast year ( i patterned him, had photos of him and seen him a few times)that would have gone around 160", and on the last day i hunted i had him at 45 yards (40 was my max last year) then a couple weeks later finding him dead after he had already shed his antlers [:@] |
RE: what do you think?
best: Def my first bowkill I was planning on sitting in the stand from about 2 in the afternoon till bout 6 that eveningand he came in at 2:20 and thwack I nailed em.
Worst ever experience would have to be whenI missed a doe on opening morning of youth season and then while I was looking to see ifI hit her a nice size 8 point cruises across the field right at me and turns broadside and bang........I missed him too.[:@] |
