Default I finally joined the high tech hunters.

Today I got my income tax check and even though I already had it spent (on bills) I listened to the little guy on my shoulder with the horns and pitchfork and walked into the sporting goods store and walked out with my first 2 trail cams. Nothing fancy really, I got the Moultrie d40 as recommended by my cousin who claims there good cams for the money. Momma bear wasnt too impressed and said I was wasting my money on more hunting and fishing toys. I told her they arent toys there tools and they will help me to be able to be home more next bow season because I can pattern the deer easier. (Some truth to it but Im still huntin as much as possible) Even though I saved some money on the cams that were only 100 each after getting some chain and padlocks and memory cards my wallet did get a bit lighter. I put one out cuz Im just too excited to wait. I didnt have time to do any shed hunting today so Im going tomarrow around noon and I know Im gonna walk up and see what I have for pics. One day isnt much but the place hasnt been hunted for 7 or 8 years so its kind of a safe haven for deer. Ill post what happens. I know I have 4 pics for sure because the camera didnt flash when I walked in front of it. I dont know if it only flashes at night or whats up. Im pretty sure I turned the flash to auto

Trail cams are as much a blast as they are a useful tool. Good luck and have fun.

Yeah if you have the flash set to auto, then it will only flash in low light sitatuions. You could always check it sometime in a dark room to see if it does indeed flash.

Thanx Fingerz, Ive been stressin a bit thinkin I setup wrong.
Its snowin a bit here and the cam is on one of my favorite trails so I know theyre gonna be on the move. I love the way the pics look with snow falling, cant wait to get a pic of my own. I dont care if its just does that pass but since only a few bucks have dropped sheds it would sure be nice to see the big dude I got a glimpse of early season. Hes just rediculous. Looks to be a mainframe 12 with kickers gallore and a drop. I couldnt even guess how many scoreable points. I know he was big enough that my adrenaline got going and my stomach was turning to the point of dry heaves after he disappeared. [:'(]

Well good luck finding him. I'd rest assured that the flash will work properly. I have moultries and I run all of mine on auto as well.

Oh boy you are in some money trouble now because it never ends once you cross to the dark side. Just say you are helping the economy.
