That's very cool Steve. Tell your pop congrats on that one! I didn't know they cross bred. I always thought coyote ate fox instead of mating with them.

Steve,

Congrats to your father for a cool catch! I do not feel it's a cross but rather a color phase. It's sort of like blonde, chocolate, black, and blue black bears. It's Mother Nature's way of changing her genes.

I don't think it is a cross between a fox and coyote, it is a cross between a silver-fox, and a red fox.

This is one my my silver foxes.

Nope. It's just a red fox. The cross part comes from the black crossing each other on It's coat I believe. Yep, he's getting It mounted.
Actually it's a cross of the red color phase and the silver (black) color phase. I got a pretty good one during bear season that I hope to be getting back from the taxidermist in a month or so.
