Has anyone ever used these?I seen them online at cabelas and all the reviews seem to be great.

I have tested several models for my website and all have done well to very well. You need a bit more KE than some of the smaller mechanicals, something in the 60+ ft/lbs range to get the best results. The heads overall are strong, sharp and accurate.

I think they are fine for Turkeys, actually a pretty good choice because of ferrule design which would impede penetration to a degree.

IMO there are much better choices in Mechanical broadheads for Deer though.

The vortex was the very first expandable I ever shot. It was way back in the early 90's and they were advertising huge cutting diameters. I killed one deer with one, it did leave a big hole. I only used them that one year, just did not like the o-ring idea. I am sure there are guys out there with more updated information on their newer heads.

From 1993 and beyond..I praise the vortex...I've left many bubbling blood trails with them....you know those blood trails that leave blood on your pants when you're done tracking....thats vortex....yata yata yata....bla bla....the rubber o-ring is nothing..its not an issue....dont even start on rubber o-ring nonsense...[8D]...shoot these heads...they're awesome.

I tried the 2 blade 125 grn. it was indeed a good head...
