Default My new AM32 pics and review

Just bought this Hoyt Alphamax 32 Bone Collector edition last week. Shot most of the new bows and this one was the total package to me. Plan to keep the DXT and shoot both bows side by side for a while until I have a clear cut winner, then I'll sell the loser. Same thing I did last year with the DXT vs. General.

Got it set up with a QAD ultrarest hunter and Spot Hogg.Shot two arrows thru paper, near perfect tears. Sighted in from 20 to 60. Here's my initial impression after 4 days of shooting:

Bow draws much better than other Hoyts I've owned or shot. Holds pretty good on target, but I'm still getting used to the back wall, much different feel than the DXT of course. Light enough but not too light IMO. The Bone Collector comes standard with the 180 grip which so far feels real good. WIth a stab, no vibration or shock whatsoever. Very, veryquiet, moreso than the DXT and I had it very quiet. Shot it thru a chrono and it's at least 10 fps faster than the DXT at same weight shooting same arrow due to the more aggressive #2 cams that come with the shorter draw lengths.Overall I think itmakes for an awesome hunting bowalthoughIstill think the Hoyt riser isugly as sin.[:@]

This pic is horrible quality I know...

That says something about how well the bow shoots. You think it's ugly, but still bought it. Especially considering there are a lot of other good shooters this year, IMO. I was also very impressed with it. If I were buying a new bow this year, I would have to highly consider the AM even though I think the riser is ugly too.

Nice bow. I shot a Hoyt AM 32 Saturday. It was the first Hoyt I have ever shot and I really would like to shoot it again. I think if I were getting a new bow this year that would be it.

Looks like a nice bow, and you know the Hoyt will win your little shoot off there...

Congrats on the new bow. I shot a bunch this year and just got the BlackOut AMax 32 Sunday. Once I get it all setup I will post some pics.

Both bows set at 27" draw, 64 lb draw weight, 406 grain arrow.

AM had stock string, string loop and one string silencer. DXT had a custom string, string loop, G5 metapeep and two silencers.

AM shot 264 fps and DXT shot 251 fps: 13 fps different. The difference in added string weight (peep and silencer) was why I earlier said 10 fps.
