Bowhunting is my main hobby. Not to mention all its side issues of arrow building and off season shooting. I generally like to hunt deer, so black powder and rifle hunting follow. Then comes trout season and camping. It gets mixed up a little with canada goose hunting and cottontails. I sold my Harley for more time with the family, which is always number one.

Mauser, you sound EXACTLY like me. Guns, woodworking, archery, fishing, etc. Not nearly enough time, and more importantly, not nearly enough money.

I like that. In MO a 20" is pushing about 7 or 8 years old I would guess? Big fish are as wise as deer in my book. Although I've caught numerous smallies over 20" and haven't shot a P&Y yet.

Fishing comes much more natuarally to me as far as where to cast, what to fish, how to fish it than trying to figure out a buck.

It is my number 1 thing to do. I love it. I think about it constantly. Everytime I enter the woods I feel like I ama ninja at age 10 I was a competitive athlete until I was 30 years old, but hunting kept tugging and pulling me from the athletic battlegrounds. It finally won me over about 4 years ago. Bowhunting was sent into my spirit by an awesome god.

A 20" river smallie is definitely a heck of a fish. MI has a few rivers with WI type P&Y numbers. As far as lakes go, it's hard NOT to catch a handful of 20" smallies in late May through late June...even on a fly.

Hunting, and for the most part Bowhunting is my#1 hobby...butat this stage in my life, I share that probably 50% with my kids sports.I have 2 good athletes, and we haveyear round sports going on as well, which is alot of fun.I don't have time for much else right now.

Edit to say: DANG those are some nice smallies!
I love to fish too...but I just don't have the time to do it as much as I'd like right now. I used to bass fish competitively, and loved it. Never caught any big smallies like that...have caught quite a few big largemouth. Good stuff!
