Cover is key. I started using it more this year and my sightings went up.
do you by chance have any pictures of your stand?
Not any of my recent setups, but ill take pics when i go and take them down this spring for you Even.

Exactly right! I want cover and height, but if I have to give up one, I'll give up the height to get more cover.

Dan
I totally agree with this. The higher up you go, the sharper the shot angle you've got too. This obviously equals smaller target.[:@]Cover rules!

Jeff, You've got to remember not everyone is comfortable, nor should they be up 25 to 35 ft. in a Tree.

I've sent friends to stands I've set before and they couldn't/wouldn't get in.

They said you gotta be Kidding!!

I forget not everyone has worked construction their whole life.

Dan
You're right Dan. I guess it comes from too many years of me doing this kind of work.

thats scary high! lol do you have to bring like a towel for all your nose bleeds

Possible better break-up of your outline if you're wearing snow camo? You've got to look at the background and see how to blend in best. When all the leaves are off the trees snow camo can be very effective if there is little background to highlight the white.

That's where Skyline camo (Horizon patern)works well.

While out shed hunting/checking my trail cam today, i took a picture of one of my setups for you Evan. This is onei feel like the deer have a very small chance of spotting me in (even though its onyl 15 feet off the ground).

That looks like great break-up! Most of the trees in my area are either poles or are infested with vine.[:@]

Vine can bea big PITA. I hate having to put the straps under the vines wrapped around trees. I dont feel very safe putting them over it.

Some of the trees can have the vine cut out, but most are SOOO thick with it that it's not practical to do.[:@]
