Good deal man 180 dollars to start out in archery is awesome.Don't get too upset when he starts shooting better than you...:D
Matt,
I would be quite happy if he did, and he may very likely do just that. But it's more likely the shooter than the weapon if he does. I can shoot BAD with a Bowtech or a Hoyt. :D

I wouldnt say you stooped.
Just KIDDING Marc, though I am a Hoyt guy for the most part, I know that nearly every bow out there is a decent piece of equipment and the shooter is more the determining factor of performance than the actual bow. I say "stooped" because this sight is heavily loaded with Bowtech FANBOYS!!! :D I got exactly what I was looking for though, a LONG braceheight newer bow that should be perfect for a new shooter. Getting a Tomkat at that was a bonus. But I think he "semi-parallel" limbs will also be a great benefit as the feel of a parallel vs. curved limb bow is just that much more beneficial when trying to teach a new shooter.

Actually, I think the Tomkat will be a better choice than the MT Sport, but an MT Sport for $100 was a damned good deal, and it already had a cheap TT dropaway on it too!!!!

Wasn't sure if you were serious or not so I thought I'd clarify just in case.

Need to use the to indicate "kidding!!!"

I'll soon be the owner of a BOWTECH!!! Not for me though, I picked up a Tomkat online for $180, that looks damn near NEW. I'm getting it for my nephew that I got out in the woods a couple times with the crossbow this year for him to learn how to shoot on and hopefully get an opportunity to kill something this fall. For an 06 Tomkat that looks NEW, I thought $180 shipped was a pretty decent deal. Was it, or did I get taken???
Awesome deal, sounds like a lucky young man. Good luck to him with it.

After shooting the Alphamax35, I AM actually. But the kid can start out with a second class bow and I'll work him up to a Hoyt. ;) Actually, it is probably a better starter bow than anything Hoyt has to offer anyhow, I like the LONG BH especially for a new shooter.

SERIOUS QUESTION: Can you get mods to help it grow with him, or am I gonna hafta buy new cams when he outgrows in in a couple years???

Well, I was downloading some of the pics out of my phone and thought I'd better post these up, since it's sort of "the law..."

Here it is dressed w/ a Cobra Sidewinder 5 pin sight, and a NAP QT 1000 prong rest...

Sighting-in, this took 5 shots at 22yds.....
