If your route takes you through creek crossings or anything like that, some 800 gram (or more) thinsulate rubber boots will keep you warm and dry

Use a thin underlayer sock, and Smart Wool outer sock. A pair of 1200 boots over that and your feet should never get cold.

I like my 1200 Burlys;)

X2 on the LaCrosse Alpha Burly 1200's. I'm not opposed to using ToastyToe's either - they work.

X2 on the Toasty Toes idea. I have a pair of Rocky's with 800 grams and use Toasty toes on the coldest days and they work great. They do, however, only last 4-6 hours or so if you're an all day sitter than may not do the trick for ya

X3 on the alphaburleys, but I only have the 800 gram, we dont get to terribly cold during the season here in the sunny state of Oklahoma.

I am an ol fella and have a new knee and cannot wear heavy boots and hunting in Northern Wi. can be cold. Here's what I did this year and it was great, just wear a pair of leather boots when you get to your stand slip on a pair of artic shield over boots put a foot warmer inside. I had the warmest feet ever. You cannot walk in them tho.
