Any tips on loud Tribute?

Have an 06 Tribute, still a great shooter, and was fairly quiet at first.

The thing is now loud as hell. I'm not sure if it happened gradually or suddenly, but it was loud all year (still killed a deer but it was 12 yards). Everyone else hearing me shoot says it is loud, so it isn't in my head.

It is hard to describe the sound, I guess it is like string noise or a reverberating whack.

I didn't change anything on the bow. I've played around with cables, Mean V, took off accessories, checked for cams rubbing, etc., but it is still loud.

I read somewhere that someone else had a problem with this on a Tribute.

I love the bow and don't really want to get a new one (at least not this year), but it is driving me crazy.

Do you have string silencers and a hush kit. Did you tighten everything and make sure nothing has come loose. On my old bow it suddenly got louder and it turned out every other shot my stabilizer would come loose. Otherwise i have no clue as to what is the culprit.

I have the same bow and its still very quiet, the only thing I added to it was a limb savor stabilizer. When I first got it I had to tighten a few things on the cam but that was it. Maybe you have a cracked limb?

I have this funny rattle coming form the cam area on my Tribute. After disassembling the bow at the shop, we all cam up with conclusion it might be the bearings in the cams. Bowtech sent new cams out, I just need to stop in and have them put on. BTW, when i tapped on the limb you could here it buzzing in the cam area.

I also had a tribute that was a little loud, after much pondering on how to fix it I finally came up with the solution, I bought a hoyt alpha max. I haven't heard a creek out of the tribute since.

I have an 06 Tribute that is very quiet. My buddy has one just like it that makes a noise. I have a QAD fallaway and he had a Ripcord. Turned out it was the Ripcord making the noise. Dunno if that helps.

I have a 06 tribute it was very quiet then I decided to put a sts on and take all the hush kit off. It sounded louder because of the slap against the sts so I messed with the sts and found the right distance. The sts sounds great on my brothers bows. The mods can come loose sometimes so make sure that you have them set properly.

Sounds great? I have never used one but would you like to keep any sound to a minimum?

Thanks for all the replies.

Will give it a shot and talk to my shop again (especially about the bearings).

Budget not good for a new bow = the ultimate solution. Just spent my Christmas $$$ on deer processing
(arghh), the Badlands Monster Fanny and broadheads, and I want a new BG Flashpoint sight.

Anyway, I have a great spot to try to whack a nanny at 25-30 yards next weekend (last time to
bowhunt). Was just worried about the noise and distance.
