Default Coyote?

I was on my very last deer hunt of the season this evening, and I saw what I believed to be a coyote. They have been "rumored" to be in the woods that I hunt, but in 7 years I've never seen one. Not even a trail cam pic of one.At first I only saw it briefly, but it came back about 20 mins later. I was lucky, and got some great video ofit. I've seen probably20 fox this season, they were all very red. This critter is far from looking like any fox that I've ever seen. These are stills from the video. What do the experts say?

That is a yote for sure! I chuckle when you east coat guys say you've never seen a yote before. Nothing against you guys, but they've just been as common as stray dogs to me growing up in the midwest.

Deer hunting only on the state land I'm hunting. I wouldn't have shot him anyway since he's the first I've seen in 7 years of hunting this land. I'm more happy just getting the video of him that I did!

Give yourself 7 more years and you will be wanting to shoot every one you see. Trust me!

I'd say yes with no doubt. Why don't you do some predator control?

Ryan.

What kind of area are you hunting that you can't shoot a coyote? Especially on state land?
