Release?
Guys, I have had a few tru-ball releases and I really like my 360 (many holes for adjustment, travel adj., flip back design, simple screw out design); HOWEVER, it is sticking slightly but enough to create some REALLY bad habits. I got to get rid of this thing before I lose all that I have gained. I do know that I could buy the same release with a sensitivity adj. but I really don't think it will correct my problem. I think it is in the poor design of the head. The other thing that I don't like is that it is tearing my D-loop up. I wanted to order a new release asap so your quick input is much appreciated. Here is what is important to me in a release:
[ul][*]easy on my D-loops[*]sensitivity adj.[*]easy length adj. no rope or strap or loud steel bars[*]travel adj. not so much but nice[*]love the fold back design to prevent the smacking off your stand when climbing[*]MUST be smooth like a million dollar riffle trigger[*]can't get comfortable with releases where you have to use your hand to hold. I think that if you are using your muscles to hold the release, that is just one more position to create movement. wrist straps avoid this use of an additional muscle.[*]willing to pay for quality[/ul] Did I mention that I am one of the finicky archers in our community. Thanks for your support! |
RE: Release?
I just bought a scott sabertooth about2 months ago and love the dang thing. It has plenty of lenght adjustment, a forward turned trigger, a smooth release, the only thing it doesnt have that you want is the foldback design, they might make em but mine isnt anyways. Good luck with your search.

RE: Release?
Carter quickie. There are a few different models, and I am pretty sure will cover all your needs. I just got the original quickie and I love it. THe wrist strap is very comfortable too.

RE: Release?
Well, I went to Gander and bought the sabertooth and shot a few in the basement. That rist band is pretty stiff, but the tension adj. is excellent, it is smooth, and looks to be a solid quality design head. Thanks for the suggestions.

RE: Release?
It took me about a week to get the strap broke in good, after you get that it has a good feel to it. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

RE: Release?
For a caliper I shoot a Truglo Copper Head but if I were in the market and I may anyway, I'm picking up a Scott Wildcat.
