exactly what Shed33 said. you can expect much if you don't put in much....besides that.. Always go with your first instinct...it's hard, but 9 out 10 times I end up saying.."man I should have hung my stand over there instead of here"

Never quit, even if you are not seeing/shooting any deer, it will come in good time. Be Patient and have fun.
Or if at first you don't succeed try again-missed a deer that is.

Shoot from the tree stand that you hunt from, with the clothes, mask, gloves, etc. that you wear...
And...Use the broadheads and arrows that you will be hunting with...
Don't shoot at alert deer, pass on iffy shot angles, wait at least 30 minutes after the shot and invest in a good flashlight for trailing...
Know your limitations with your equipment and stick within those limitations...

I forgot my arrows once. Left my quiver by where I was practicing. Got to my land, grabbed my bow and walked out to my stand. I climbed up and went to grab an arrow [:-]. No quiver.... no arrows.
