Careful what you wish for...
I'd come out just to stack logs with you brother!
Let me know, I have all the tools...
16" saws, chainsaws, etc... we could build a nice little hunting camp deep in the woods,
where all those elusive WI whitetails hang out.
I'm sure we can sign a few others up and have us a good ole time!?

You could always come hunting with me Ed. I offer a discount for log home builders.[8D]

Ed good luck in Ohio! I hope you have a great time, and a safe&successful hunt. In my opinionifI had to pick one Iwould go withOhio Bow Outfitters. They are located in Coshocton County which was the number one county in Ohio for deer harvests in the 2007-08 season, with 8,417 deer harvested. Compare this to Triple T Outfitters which is located in Hocking County which recorded close to 50% less deer harvested(4,686) than Coshocton County! Without having a chance to do a lot more research and calling past clients, I would just have to play the numbers. Either place I'm sure is great as Ohio is really building a reputation for great whitetail hunting! Try to hunt close to either a known bedding area or a regular food source. Ask your guide if they bait overany of theirstands (corn, licks, pellets, ect...) as baiting is legal in Ohio. I also have a lot of pictureson my trail camera of deer (bucks) moving between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. So don't be afraid to hunt the late morning and early afternoon, as the warm sun gets them up and on their feet!Best of luck to you and let us know how it goes!

(New England) hunters... Hopefully they weren't relatives.
This guy did not bait, but has his 1/4-1/2 crop fields in place solely for archery.
I think he said that he had 156 stands set up on over 4k acres and he does this full time.
I liked the idea of the crop fields verses baiting, as it seems more natural (imo)..
Thanks again folks it's been helpful ~ Ed

Where I am in Ohio the antlers are still on and generally are through most of February. However, I have found antlers shed in other parts of Ohio in early January, so it is somewhat of a toss-up. I sure hope your hunt next year is a great one!

RE: OHIO Late season Bow hunt
Late season Ohio bow hunting has been good for me the last couple of years.
This year Jan. 13, last year Feb. 3. All racks were on tight... love hunting in the freezing cold.
Refreshing, crisp and makes the hunt very memorable! I'm not going to deny that I can't wait to get to the house to sit in front of the old Grizzly wood burning stove!
