Decent East Central MN buck found Dead (pics)
 

This buck was found dead about 10 miles west of our farm. It was found by a family friend, with two rifle wounds in the rear hams. Here are a few pictures. It was brought to me to score, and to give it to my best friend who does Euro mounts. I will post the score when I get around to it. Thought I'd share.

He has good tine length, and carries his mass all the way out. A shame he had to die and not be recovered.

That is a shame. You know, here in PA I hear die hard rifle hunters complain about bowhunting because they find wounded or dead deer when rifle comes in. (Follows bow). I simply remind them they should talk to second season bowhunters or flintlockers who find rifle wounded or killed deer. It comes full circle.

The pictures didn't do this boy justice.

I had him guessed at 146"

I taped him at 144" even, and my buddy taped him out at 144 1/8th.

I forgot the sheet at home, as I'm back at school but I can post them sometime.

I was about 8" low on the score. For some reason I consistently score 8 points low.
