RE: Bowhunters hunting
On the ground I shot a doe at like 6-8 steps, she was close, my buddy and I were sitting in a depression using a shrub/tree as backdrop on the edge of a wheatfield, there were about 5 or 6 does that actually came out to the wheat and circled behind us at 6-8 yrds, our whole intention was for him to get a deer but he couldnt get the shot off because he was set up to shoot into the wheat, lucky for me I was just the opposite, it was deer #4 with a bow for me, a yearling doe and I was dang proud of her.
From a tree, I shot a doe this year at about 8 yards it was the shot I picture when I think about a perfect opportunity.

In the 60s. I was on the ground& a 6 point Buck ran up & stopped next to me-I was already at full draw-he was about 5 feet away. He dropped in 30 yds. Wood Arrow-MA3 Blade & 64# American Archery recurve.
Since I have taken MANY animals at 10 yds or so.
