From a tree I've gota few at 4 yds. From the ground 10 yds.

I've got 33 deer at 15yds or less, 16 of those 10 or less.

My first Bull Elk, around 10 yds. It was awesome! I admitt I was a little scared!
That Is sweet having an elk that close, what a rush It Is!! I had a 6x6 bull about 8' from me tearing up the bush I was behind. I was ****ting my pants!! I never got a shot at him and he had no clue I was there.

As for myself the closest animal's I've shot have been bear at about 8 yards or so. Done that a few times. Both times I was about 8' up In a tree.

Whitetail Buck 3 yards!

There was no ground shrinkage!

I was at Full Draw on a 360# Bear, but I didn't shoot until it moved off to 5 yards. It was self defense for a few seconds

From a tree, I have had a few that were approx. 4 yds. My closest on the ground was a doe a few years ago at 3 yards. Had to hold my draw for quite a while but she finally stepped out into my lane.

A buck from the 2004 season. He was within two feet of the tree I was in (I was 13ft up), in fact he was chewing on my pull rope when the arrow entered him.
That's very interesting. Because I leftthe bungee to my stand on the ground at the base of my tree last week and a small5ptcame in from behind me, smelled it and nearly jumped out of his skin!
My closest kill was a yearling doe this season. She was 8 feet from the base of my tree.
