11 ' stabilizer on hunting bow??

Does any one use a long stabilizer on their hunting bow? I am looking at possibly getting an octane 11.5" or a fuse 10" stabilizer for my bow but am concerned if it would be a hinderance in the tree stand or in the blind.

I use a 10.5" stabilizer on mine and have no problems at all in a treestand. Your arrow sticks out a lot farther than that when you are holding your bow anyway.

I don't feel there necessary past 6inch, they stop the vibration and give balance. anything thing over 6 is pushing it.

with the bows being made now you dont even need a stabilizer but it is all a personal preferance so it is your decision.

I have always used 11.5"/12" stabilizers on my hunting bow. I set the up for 3D and then use them through archery season.

Currently I have a 12" Super Stix, a 11.5" Doinker, Octane and Fuse.

I had the 10 in fuse on my old hunting bow didn't hinder me at all. Your arrow sticks out further than the stabilizer until you draw back I never had any problems

Wow, really? I could easily tell a difference between my 6" old stabilizer (not sure what brand) and my octane 11.5". If you dont think a longer stab. helps, stick on a really long one adn see how it feels! You will be able to tell the difference.

I shot a 12" Super Stix this year. I was going to change up for deer season, but my 3D setup was shooting so good I just did not want to mess up a good thing. I never had a problem with the long stabilizer in the stand. There was one evening in a ground blind that I was cussing it, got drawn but could not get the bow up to the window without the stabilizer rubbing against the blind. I would recommend going with a shorter stabilizer if you are going to be doing a lot of blind hunting, but if most of your hunting is done in a stand, then I don't believe you will have a problem.

I have always preferred stabilizers in the 10" to 12" range. They have never caused me a problem while hunting.

Some of the little short cheap stabilizers do actually very little. If you try a quality longer stabilizer you will tell the difference.
