Disaster strikes in the ziploc bags!

Today is a sad sad day for me. Last month I made a bunch of deer jerky with my dehydrator. I stored away four 2gal bags full of it. Today I went looking for a tasty treat only to find...

mold all over the jerky! wth? this has never happened to me in the few years I've been making this stuff. I didn't use any cure but I've never had to as my dehydrator sucks 99.9% of the moisture out and it's never been a problem.

I'm bummed, I guess I better start using some sort of cure to make sure this doesn't happen again. Any suggestions on a cure?

Storejerky in the 'fridge or freezer. Even with the cure it can get moldy if there's a couple of mold spores and any moisture in the bags.

I think you can vacuum seal it in a bag and it will keep, or so I've been told. I always eat mine up fast enough that it doesn't get a chance to spoil.

Yes you can prevent it. Make sure if you use zip locks, get as much as the air out as possible, then keep it cold. In the freezer or in the fridge. I prefer the freezer.
