female bowhunters

Just wondering how many female bowhunters are out there. It took me 14 years to get into hunting. I got my bow alittle over a year ago. My husband has hunted all his life and now our girls are also into it. They hunt withrifles and bowsbut I prefer my bow. I want out this past archery season with my husband but didn't get anything. We saw lots of deer though everytime we went out.

HI and welcome:). I didn't get a deer my first year out, either. The next year I got a doe. Keep at it. The work's hard but the rewards are great. Especially when that big buck you kill is bigger than your husband's:D

Thats quit alright. This is the second year in a row my wife has shot a bigger buck than me. It doesnt bother me at all, I just tell her that she must have had a very good teacher.

My sister bow hunts. She has shot a lot of deer over the years including some nice bucks. She missed a dandy 10 pointer this year[&o]I felt so bad for her.

I'd say so Diesel!! My mom was very successful when she still bow hunted. She's shot 5 bear and I believe 7 deer with her bow. I wish she still bow hunted but she does still come on all the blood trails around home when my brother or I send an arrow through a whitetail.

My Mom has bowhunted for about 30 years and started with a recurve. She has taken many deer and a few decent bucks. She killed one of the top typical archery bucks for a MI woman in 2000...second pic. She's 53 now with a bum shoulder. She has a crossbow permit due to her shoulder, but instead she sees a physical therapist to keep her shoulder strong enough to pull her compound back. Yeah, I'm pretty proud of her.

I'd be damn proud of her too Vito!! My hats off to your mom!!

Yeah she is a pretty cool lady. She hada 135" 8pt at 15 yards during the '06 bow season. She said it was slightly quartering too and she wasn't comfortable with the shot. It later fed broadside for 30 minutes at 25-30 yards which is outside of her effective range. If she had her crossbow, it would be on the wall. She never saw it again and doesn't regret using her compound for one second...at least that is what she says.;) Here is that buck still in velvet.

I've rifle hunted since I was 14. Just started bowhunting last year (I'm 31 now)and love it! You hear and see so much more deer behavior this way!
Very cool! Glad to see other ladies out there!
