Kinetic Energy, is this enough

I had my bow tuned and tested. Fellow said I am generating 54 lbs of kinetic energy, which is plenty to harvest deer. He said 45lbs is where it starts getting too low for hunting.

My arrow is a beman 340 with a 100 gr broadhead and arrow speed of 231 fps (older hoyt super slam).

How does this sound for hunting performance?

Provided you use a quality fixed blade head or one of a few smaller mechanicals and tune your bow well, you have plenty of KE to kill any deer , turkey or blackbear that walks. The key is shot placement.

I agree. As long as your bow is tuned correctly and you put the arrow where it needs to go then that setup is more than adequate for whitetail deer hunting.....ofcourse, as 5 shot pointed out, broadhead choice is also something to consider.

Muzzy three blade is what I am shooting. What is the safe range of Kinetic energy or should I say, the minimum, assuming good placement and broadhead?
