How do you secure your trailcam?

I've never had a trailcam. Can anyone give me any info on how to keep it from being stolen? All it has is a nylon strap and plastic snap to secure it. Tips anyone?

I have mine up in the tree about 8" with wedges behind it so that it points toward my desired location. I wrapped
a steel braided wire around it with a small master lock...it aint goin' anywhere! And a car alarm....

The bottom line is, if somebody wants it badly enough they're going to get it. It's the same thing leavinga tree stand in the woodsThat's the grim reality.[:'(] You just have to use some discretion on your placement of it.

Mine's insured by Smith and Wesson...;)

If you hide yours well enough and make it difficult to remove most thieves won't get it. Any thief who does is almost certain to be someone you know.

Bouncing Betty's, Razor wire, and two pit bulls chained to the tree should help secure it!:D Actually I think it's just as important to camouflage your trail cam as much as possible. If they can't see it they can't steal it. It worked for me or else I think this guy who I caught trespassing would definitely have stolen my camera.

My cuddeback has a metal box that goes around it. I lag bolt the box to the tree and shoot some long screws in as well. My other cams get screwed to the tree and locked with a cable and padlock. I've had a camera stolen so I'm a little paranoid. If someone wants it bad enough, they will steal it or damage it.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. To bad the companies that make them can't come up with a design that is a little more theft resistant.

I hear exactly what you're saying there! The Cuddeback's simply have a long screw that goes through the inside of the cam into the tree. What a friggen joke!! Especially for a high dollar cam.[:@][:'(][>:]
