I learn something every year. If I don't, I figure I'm not paying attention. Never get caught in a rut on what worked the previous year. Like Greg said patience, patience, patience. Hunt every minute you can in any situation. You can't kill anything watching the Outdoor Channel. I prefer to do my hunting in High Definition.
It only takes a few seconds for everything to change!

It's never over until the Fat lady sings!!

Patience pays off.

take advantage of the early doe only archery season, its your best chance to really get to know the deer.

Save my time off for hunting season, and spend more time hunting back out west. I miss hunting out west, so i want to make sure i do it more often.

And nothing is better then setting my dad up on a good buck, better feeling then me shooting my own buck this year.

I learned that even in the best of spots it can be a challenge to hang your tag on a mature animal

This year taught me that I need to extend my effective range. It also taught me AGAIN (I thought I learned my lesson last year!!), to let lesser bucks walk (especially on the second day of a 6 day hunt!!)if I expect to kill a big buck.[:@][&o]

Don't pass on a 6 year old 8 point on first light of opening morning. May be the last buck you see for a while.

I learned that even I can get a good buck to walk within range.

This yearreinforced that it can happen at any time. I got two within a minute of walking in, and then one with a minute of light left. It can happen anytime so you have to hunt all the time!!
