Geeze...can you imagine the opening to his skull after shedding.
It's a good thing they shed their antlers when it's cold as I would think a gaping hole, exposed skull and some meat would certainly be a recipe for infection in warm weather.
Mother natures way of healing the injured.

Question to you scoring junkies..... How would this be measured (ex. Inside spread, main beam length, mass) since everything is formed from one base???
