sorry if a repost but Saw a little "blurb" in the sunday Columbus Dispatch with a picture of a guy and a huge deer. Of course no with it being it is "COLUMBUS" you know trying to shed the cow town image which is BS but anyway i found a little more on it check this out he is huge ! ! ! !

That's impressive! Especially taking it with a longbow!

I just got an email last night saying a guy in my hometown shot a 260" buck with a muzzleloader. But I was stupid and didn't know it was a joke because the guy was from Iowa and looks exactly like the guy from my hometown. [:@] I dissapointed some people in the Deer Hunting forum and made Wisconsin look bad [&o]

The little caption said that guy has shot 3 bucks over 185"! That is some pretty special property he has that the bucks have the right combination of food, genetics, and age to get that size with some consistency.

Congrats to him and kudos for getting him with traditional gear.

thats the only other thing i could find on that guy and this deer. i hate to link other sites but that was all i could find. Say the same picture in the Sunday paper but small and black and white so it didnt do it much justice. Also have seen several bucks in Ohio break 200" in mark this year i posted another one killed west of here near Urbanna Ohio near Kiser lake says 213" typical green score. it is huge look back at my post to see it.

Why do people always have to strech their arms away from their body when their holding the deer. Its already a big deer, no need to make it look any bigger. That pisses me off more than anything[:@]

Ain't no way he shot that with a longbow. Anybody less than 40 years old knows that it takes a 30" draw, 70# compound bow producing 100+ footpounds of kinetic energy to kill a deer.

Now seriously, that's one heck of a lot of bone.

I don't think he's trying to make the deer look bigger than it really is, I think he's trying to make the deer the "showcase" of the picture. That deer doesn't need any help to look like a monster. Some of the biggest deer I've ever seen are in the southern part of Franklin County, OH, and I'm from the county that has produced more Record Book Bucks than any of the other counties in this state!!!!

RE: 220" ohio bow kill

It is possible that he used a compound bow. This is because of how the state of Ohio determines bows in the game regulations. Either you use a cross bow or a long bow. there is no difference in terminology between the two. as long as it is aligned vertically it is a long bow if it is aligned horizontally it is a crossbow. Just some info about Ohio game regulations and how a newspaper article may misjudge the actual weapon used to harvest the animal.

Since then I've met some people who live in Franklin county and have seen pics of some deer there which are not huntable legally. Quit possible this guy has watched them too and just had to have one. The deer I saw were as big as the one he shot and seeing the pic again kind of made me wonder if he hadn't taken one of those park deer.

12,500 yikes. For a deer! 2 bone heads I'd say. He's not even advertising anything but hair dye for men. :)
