RE: Who's Ice Hunting Today?
At work tonight, gonna try to sneak out for a few in the morning into an area of pines behind my house where I'm pretty sure they will be bedded. The wind should be in my face getting into that area, maybe I can pull it off. By the time I'm home in the morning, I'm pretty sure they'll already be bedded, hopefully I can move quietly enough with the wind muffling their ears enough they don't hear me, and get a shot on some more freezer meat.
Guys, be SMART, if you get cold, get back into the warmth, it's not worth losing fingers or toes over, or ending up with lifelong "cold pains" from frostbite!!!
Preach,
I hear ya on that "Global Warming" thing!!!

RE: Who's Ice Hunting Today?
This morning when I went to work it was -12 with out the wind chill and the wind was howling. This afternoon the wind dropped and I thought that I would go out after I snow blowed my driveway. After being out in the elements for about 30 minutes my hands were so cold that it was painful. I quickly bagged the idea of hunting and decided to watch football on the couch instead. Looks like Tuesday there is a break in the weather so hopefully I can get out a few more times.

Hunted ducks instead yesterday, miserable wind and cold, but we cleaned up. 11 drake mallards and 4 geese. Coldest i've ever been I think, even worse than steelhead fishing in the winter.
