Default Hey Rob..other 82nd shooters

I am going to sell/or trade my '06 Tribute as I want a speed bow to compliment my Guardian, and my dealer told me that the '09 82nd has roller guard and string stopper improvements over the '08. Like your input on how much better you feel the '09's are over the '08's, if they even are in your opinions. Value wise and the latest gr8est, I want the '09. Would you definately get the '09 over the '08? Thanks, Don

Do they still make the 82nd?

Did they discontinue the 101st?

82nd is a '09 model...no 101st. 82nd is the only model that came over from '08, and my dealer says it is gr8ly improved over the '08

Don, the only difference I'm aware of from 08' to 09' is the relocation of the factory string stopper. Both models had roller guards.

Right. I knew that; here is off of Bowtech's website for the description

The 82nd Airborne's mission is quick deployment in order to secure key objectives. Speed kills and that's just the way the 82nd Airborne likes it. The 82nd returns this year with a stockpile of enhanced benefits the adrenaline addict lives for. Improvements like a redesigned roller cable guard to increase efficiency and prolong cable life. And a new, repositioned string stop that opens up the sight window and halts vibration. Combined with the proven technology of the Binary Cam System and the 82nd Airborne’s proprietary Zero Tolerance Limb Pockets, this year’s 82nd Airborne definitely secures its objective… Sudden Death by Air!

Go to your dealer and shoot them and see which one is better for you!

Thanks for the pm Scott(Buckeye) you are right on with what others have told me on AT. Ditch the factory string stopper and get an after market sts. I believe I am coming close to working out a deal with a guy that had a Tribute and wants one bad as he already has two 82nds. His is an 08. MeanV still building STS's?

Don, I have a MeanV on my 82nd and highly recommend it as well. You then can take off the factory suppressor if you wish but honestly, I have both on mine. I love this bow, LOVE IT. I'm a huge fan of the 36" bows and the 82nd is very impressive. It rolls over harder than some but I'm so used to that from shooting Hoyt for so many years that it means nothing to me and I don't notice it. I'm shooting a 465 grain arrow at 280 fps for 82 ftlbsKE and this at only 62lbs, 28.5" DL. Dead accurate, quiet and a joy to shoot. I'd be hard pressed to have this bow leave my lineup.

I didn't order the 09 as I already had the MeanV on mine and saw no reason.

I also know Ben/PA loves his 101.

With your longer DL Don, your speeds should be very impressive.

Well, I just traded my Tribute for a 2008 82nd Airborne 60# 29" and we both will ship 2 each other Tues. I then have to set up my barebow. Think I am Going to go with a one pin site for the bad boy. I will put a MeanV on it. I hope I like it..I am sure I will. I too, have got used to the harsher roll overs as a Hoyt shooter for years. Thanks for the info and I am pumped.

Just as an FYI... you can easily convert your '08 into an '09 model by ordering the new Stringstop and roller guard if you ever so desired.
