Wow you brought back some memories for me with this post!! To start with I have been bow hunting since 1975 the first year I could legally carry a bow here in Michigan which I had to be 12 at that time. You couldn't hunt from tree stands ground only we all carried recuves and we did seeour share of deer because they actully went out and broused all day all becuase there were no bait piles. Now as for getting permission to hunt here in michigan it was not very easy back then because everyone gun hunted and the gunners had thelandowners conviced that us bowhunters would only wound deer with our little arrows.. I was lucky my uncle back then owned 180 acres and stateland was all over the place and when you went out eat and we were in our camo back then you should have seen looks when they asked what we were doing and we told them we were bowhunting they would just look at us and go what!!!!!Walt
