So. Fawns revisisted

Who shot a fawn this year ? What did you think about doing it? And most importantly, how does it taste?

I did not but wanted to badly several times. My first hunt of the year in Sept I had several right out in front of the stand and after waiting a whole year for season to open I wanted to let an arrow fly so bad. I have heard they taste incredibly good. I probably would have shot one butI have some buddies that would make fun of me for shooting bambi.

Never have. Why would you? So little meat for a tag. Shoot a doe.

Quality over quantity is the reason behind most people.

I have in the past (when I first started hunting)but haven't seen the difference in a fawn and a doe taste wise.

So I'll shoot a mature deer if geiven the chance over a fawn every time.

Pluss those buck fawns may be a monster some day. So why kill them early.

I passed up a bunch with the bow. I'll probably shoot the first one without spots next year, to get some more meat in the freezer:D

I did, I saw it wasa young doe and not a b.b., so Ishot it at 7 yards. And I was just as proud as if it were any other deer. Tastes great!
