I don't know how you folks can take good venison and ruin it by turning it into jerky.[&:][&:] All mine this year is steaks, tenderloins and stew meat. I have a few packages I'm taking up to get made into some breakfast sausage. Two deer is more than enough for me all by myself.

LOL different strokes..I view stew meat as wasteful..jerky is the best way to eat venison to me. Tenderloins, backstraps, and the rest is either ground with bacon or stripped into jerky meat.

Must be! Today is our last day of gun season, its a nice day and all but I'd rather wait till next week and just go out w/ a bow! Plus if I use up some meat I'll have all the more incentive to go

I have deer and elk comin out of my yin yang[8D]I pretty well only cook the loins and make the rest into jerky..Loins are ALWAYS done in olive oil..garlic powder..and black pepper..yum. I could eat jerky everyday..and do till it's gone. Dave..u would if the salt didn't mess with your high blood pressure.

1st batch done...now time for the vacuum seal food saver process

I agree with NY and sjsfire, however, we (my wife and I) like to make our own steaks, summer sausage, ground italian, just ground with some pork for burgers and such, and snack sticks, and the wifes favorite, canned venison. That some good stuff right there!
