You can get a used flagship bow from any company you want for in the $4-500 range..2008s at that. Just look around...figure out which bow you want, and watch classifieds like on AT like a hawk....I think AT is far and away the cheapest way to buy a bow..Some of those guys just give em away practically, lol.

Ill be looking for a used 2009 Hoyt Alphamax this spring/summer...if the right price arises, it is mine.

Check out the Martins....I got my 07 Bengal for 400 bucks brand spankin new.

Killed 5 turkeys and 2 deer with it and hasnt caused me any problems...

I work with a guy who just got a Martin and he says he loves it, so id have to agree with you.
x3. My Martin Bengal has been nothing but a pleasure.
x4. I shoot a Cheetah but I can complain a bit about the bow for the money you get out of martin. The cheetah is even cheaper and the only difference I saw in the Cheetah and Bengal is the cheetah is a little smaller.

I agree.. I'm not hijacking this thread but I will be selling my Mathews Outback "hybrid" lol this year.. Once I get my new bow setup..

other then that I think parker has some nice bows at good prices.

A used top of the line bow of the past...

For example, find something like a 2007 for a good price, thats what I would do if I had 500 to put into a bow....

As far as what bow would I go for? Well last spring, I did this very thing, I bought a used 2007 Bowtech Allegiance, shoots awesome, I'll likeley not a have a new for quite a while....

Bear Archery is the way to go...go to their website and look at the different models. The Instinct, Truth and Element are good bows. The truth 2 in my opinion is the best but is a little more then $500

Fred Bear Done Deal. The only difference from the Truth 2 is the strings are not Winners Choice. Smooth draw, lightweight,no hand shock. A real nice inexpensive bow.

I just bought a brand new in the box bowtech guardian 08 model for $505 shipped off a guy on AT.
You're one lucky guy getting a deal like that! Best bow for under $500...definately Martin. Cheetah, Bengal, Moab all sweet bows that won't break the bank.
